St. Louis Middle and High School Students — Get Ready to Code
March 3, 2016 | KMOX
There are student contests for robotics, chess, and debate, and now there’ll be one for kids into computer programming.
Several St. Louis-area schools and districts, including Parkway and MICDS, are partnering with GlobalHack to launch the Youth Hackathon League. The Regional Business Council is helping to bring the program to schools in North County as well.
Spearheading the program is Michael Palmer, who founded Code Red Education which provides schools with computer science curriculum.
“Education is about expanding opportunities,” said GlobalHack Executive Director Matt Menietti. “Mastering technology through education programming is critical to leveling the playing field for our youth.”
